The Escher Deierpark is located in South of Luxembourg in countries second biggest city Esch-Sur-Alzette. Based on a hill, the so called Gaalgebierg you can find a big enclosure containing lots of animals like Deers, Rabbits, Wild boars and Guinea pigs. One of the highlights, especially for kids, are definitely the raccoons that can climb around in their cage. Another highlight is located in the reserve of the deers, as you can climb within their enclosure and come really close to the animals. Usually you also find some food for animals at the entrance which you even got for free. The food is limited, so if you want to feed animals ensure to come to the park early and not in the afternoon. The entrance to the Escher Deierpark is free, as well as the parking. The way from the parking area to the park itself is bit steep, so be prepared for this.
The area is surrounded from small hiking trails so you can combine your trip with a small walk through the forest if you like. Inside the area you also find a small coffee where you can sit down, eat a piece of a cake, enjoy a coffee/tea and watch the animals. The cafe is even offering breakfast and in summer you can get an ice cream as well.
